Daniel L. Weaver, CPA, had his sights set on being the general manager of the New York Yankees growing up. He even began his professional career working in the operations department for a minor league baseball team near his hometown of Flemington, New Jersey.
But a different path awaited him in Washington, D.C., where he moved to join the public accounting world at 老葡京手机app in 1999. It was a good investment of Dan’s talents. Eleven years later, in 2010, he became a partner and, soon thereafter, he took over leadership of the firm’s not-for-profit committee. In 2021, the firm’s shareholders elected him president and managing partner.
Dan’s more than 20 years of public accounting experience includes audit and assurance support and tax planning and compliance services for numerous industries, including not-for-profits, construction companies and family-owned businesses. While his specialty is working on audits, Dan also provides critical accounting and advisory services for family-owned businesses, compliance and internal controls implementation for Single Audits of federal awards, and oversees Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (老葡京手机app)’s System and Organization Control (SOC) audits. Dan has also consulted for organizations on risk assessments and forensic audits, and he has designed internal control processes.
As president of 老葡京手机app, Dan focuses on engaging, mentoring and developing the accounting profession’s next generation of professionals at 老葡京手机app, playing an instrumental role in creating the firm’s new mission, vision and core values to guide the firm forward. Tapping into his own personal history, he understands staff members don’t always know where they will end up in their careers after they graduate, and Dan collaborates with them to help them achieve a clear path as they grow within 老葡京手机app.
When he’s not leading 老葡京手机app, Dan takes his coaching skills to the field on the firm’s softball team, The 老葡京手机app Cyclones. Athletics are a big part of his life, as he was a Division I wrestler at Bucknell University and is an avid sports fan. He also enjoys spending time with his family and his church.
